I know everyone says it but I can’t believe that it’s already nearly May. That being said April has been a rollercoaster for me so I thought I would update you on my general happenings in April and what the plans are for May. Keep reading to find out…
I have been pretty sick.
This one as you can tell has been awful. I have been diagnosed as a type 2 diabetic a few weeks ago and the tablets I have been put on are making me very ill. Thankfully I’m feeling much better as I’m sat here writing this but the start of my week was spent in bed and not at work! 😦
I didn’t stick to many goals.
I can’t be the only person who decides that being productive is lame and I’d rather sleep or play video games. This month has been a heartbreaking one for me so I kind of used that as an excuse to trash my room and not do a lot. That and I also bought God of War for the PS4 so… Needs must, am I right?
I almost had a house, then I lost it, then I got it again…
This one is by far the most exciting news to come out of this month! I was interested in buying a one bedroom new build property and had been cleared by an Advisor only to find someone else had reserved it in the meantime. I was absolutely heartbroken and I may or may not have said some choice words and sulked a lot.
I then got a call from the same people to say the sale had fallen through and I could essentially have the property if I wanted it. Today I’ve been and paid my reservation fee and I’ve been told that I could be able to move in as early as June (this year!!). I’ve never left my childhood home so it’s going to be a huge change going from a house with 6 people in it most days to living alone. I really want to move out and have the means to do so so I thought I might as well. What do I have to lose?
If I’m honest that’s pretty much it for April so with that said I’m going to set out a few larger goals for May and then break them down into my Motivation Monday posts.
May Goals 2018
Buy the majority of items for my house.
This is going to be a mammoth task having never lived alone before. I am going to try and find/make a master list of everything I might need when I move out and roughly how much it’s going to cost. I was thinking I might do a post on the whole process but also a master list and costs as I struggled to find anything cost related myself.
Do some overtime to save up.
I literally say this every month but this time I actually have a serious reason to. I’m in a fortunate position where I’m able to do as much overtime as I can. I will go through my month in my planner and work out when and where is going to be best to do overtime. I’m also going to try and work out the rough value per hour as well.
Clear out my room entirely.
There are some of you out there that can probably relate to how my room is right now, and others of you would be horrified. I am currently sat at my desk surrounded by clean clothes and laundry and bin bags and all sorts. I’m very organised at work and awfully unorganised at home. I really do want to have a tidy minimal space but I’m essentially cramming a house’s worth of stuff into one small room. I want to make sure everything I don’t want to keep has been thrown out or finds a new home before I move.
Plan all May posts and schedule some social media posts.
I’ve been going through my numbers for this month on my blog (I know they’re not everything!) and was shocked to see without much promotion at all I was still getting 5+ views a day. Previously I’d only get views when I posted or promoted and nothing on the other days. I want to try and plan all my posts for May and have them up at least a day early to avoid stress and rushing them. I also want to get back on Twitter and Instagram as well because I miss them. 😦
Test out a few productivity tips.
I’ve been struggling to find any motivation to be productive lately and have spent an embarrassing amount of time either watching Netflix/YouTube or asleep. I have seen a few posts on Pinterest and twitter around ways to be more productive. I want to try these out individually for a week to see if they actually make a difference. The first one will be on the new Motivation Monday post this Monday!
